Monday, Nov. 11 Agenda

  • Bell Ringer: Quill Time (complete at least 2 activities) and then read your independent book
  • In Romeo and Juliet Section: Discuss with partner and record notes: What do you know about Shakespeare and/or his works? List anything and everything you can think of about who he was/is, what he wrote, when he wrote, etc.
  • “Shakespeare’s World”
    • Read and take notes pg 926-929
    • Take detailed notes as there will be an open-notes quiz (after discussion of all notes tomorrow or Wednesday) –post one piece of info to the online discussion boards
    • Notes Categories
      • The Time/Era of Shakespeare
        • England as well
      • Shakespeare: the man/his life, the author/his work, his influence
      • Theater and Plays
  • Writer’s Workshop time: Page 11 in the Handbook
    • In-text Citations: after every quote, no comma, period AFTER the citation NOT BEFORE!
    • Work time on Paper: first thing, write your thesis (revise it if necessary) as the first sentence on your draft
    • Body paragraphs rough draft due tomorrow end of work time or earlier
